Sydney has practiced speech therapy in public schools, private schools, daycare facilities and within the home before joining the ProActive team in November 2019.
Sydney has worked extensively with toddlers, preschoolers and school-aged children and has treated and evaluated children with hearing impairments, childhood apraxia of speech, articulation and phonological disorders, oral motor impairments, feeding impairments and picky eating, language disorders, traumatic brain injury, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, autism spectrum disorder, vision impairments and other developmental delays.
Sydney enjoys working in a multi-disciplinary approach so professionals and families can collaborate to best meet the needs of each child. She is passionate about providing child-centered programming within the framework of a family’s daily routine. She believes that families and caregivers are a vital part of our team and provides strategies and activities to facilitate speech and language development at home.
Sydney has specialized training in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), Childhood Apraxia of Speech, Sensory Processing/Regulation, Visual Phonics®: See the Sounds, MNRI® (Masgutova Neurosenorimotor Reflex Integration) Archetype Movement Integration, TOTS (Tethered Oral Tissues), Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, and Pediatric Feeding Disorders. Additionally, Sydney is NLA (Natural Language Acquisition) Trained, specializing in communication support for Gestalt Language Processors.
